Now Accepting Book Donations

Two boxes accepted per household/per week that are easy for us to carry.
Fiction and nonfiction, juvenile and adult, hardcover and paperback in very good condition
that we may put into our collection or sell in our June book sale to benefit the Children's Summer Reading Program.
No textbooks, magazines, VHS, encyclopedias, multi-volume sets, technology or travel books over five years old, mildewed, stained or smoky items please.

Glass Universe by Dava Sobel

 

The little-known true story of the unexpected and remarkable contributions to astronomy made by a group of women working in the Harvard College Observatory from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s.


**Eclipse Events - Save These Dates**

Apr 1st - Eclipse Glasses Distribution Begins.

Available while supplies last. Patrons may request up to three pair. Reservations not accepted.

Apr 6th, 10am - 11am. Scott Turnbull of the Vermont Astronomy Society at Memorial Hall.

 This talk explains how a solar eclipse happens and, more importantly how to safely view one. A video of a previous total solar eclipse will be presented so that you will know what to expect on the big day. 250 pairs of eclipse glasses will be distributed to participants at the end of the program.

Apr 8th, 2pm - 4:30pm. Eclipse Viewing Party in Library Garden.

250 pairs of eclipse glasses will be available. Cloudy day? No worries! We’ll be live-streaming NASA’s website throughout the library.
